Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community Stands with Leonard Peltier

The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community is pleased with the long-overdue decision to release Leonard Peltier from prison.

For far too long, he has been denied justice, and his case should have been reviewed and granted an appeal years ago.

His release is a step forward, but true justice has not yet been achieved, as even now, he is confined to his home, for life. Obviously better than a prison cell, but still not truly free.

We continue to stand with Leonard Peltier and all who have fought for his freedom, hoping for the day when he is no longer bound by these unjust restrictions.
