What to say about someone who embodies honor?
One who dedicated their life to people, community, tribal affairs, and embracing our history.
Who is Leader, Friend and Sacred Mother bringing correction, love, and comfort.
Giving guidance, a home, and purpose within a people.
She walks with fierce love. A love of her people. The love of her community. A love of what we
can create together. A love existing in the possibility of unity and of Mother Earth to have our
small patch which to live freely as we once did.
One who opens arms and gathers you in making you understand what it means to have family.
We are all related.
She carries our people, their stories, and their pain on her back with her own. She has taken that on in order to make sure our history does not die and that all that come to know her know history as well.
She honors ancestors, culture, tradition; and she honors love, loyalty and truth. She is the
“golden thread” through many of our hearts connecting us all to Mendota- Home.
