Water Blessing Full Moon Walk at Coldwater Springs – Saturday, April 16, 2022Coldwater Springs Water Blessing Full Moon Walk at Sacred Coldwater Springs Saturday, April 16, 2022 Gather at the park entrance, 7pm Park on the Hwy 55 access road
April showers water blessing is the theme for this month. There is not a single plant or animal on the planet that can survive without water.
When we thank and bless water we include ourselves, people are about 70-percent water. Babies are about 90-percent water—which is why you just want to hug and hold them to your heart and smile and try to get them to giggle.
Friends of Coldwater are grateful that the spring still flows although down from 130,000 gallons per day in 1999 to about 70,000 gpd. Water is what climate change is all about: floods, droughts, warming oceans and devastating storms.
Coldwater is an acknowledged Dakota sacred site. Friends of Coldwater seek to honor our 10,000-year-old landscape ancestor. We return and return to remember the spirits that feed this Dakota sacred site. Full moon walks have been celebrated at Coldwater Springs monthly since 2000. Traditional group howl when the moon peeks out.
Sunset 7:59 pm (36-minutes later than last full moon, including 1-hour time change) Moonrise 8:09 pm (9-minutes later than last month) Moment of the full moon: 1:55 pm
