This was our most successful Wacipi ever. Thanks to all of you!! We had double the people we normally have on Sunday. Heard nothing but great Wacipi best ever for two days. We made almost enough in a day and a half to pay all our dancers. After all the cash expenses, we were roughly negative $1,000. Most all the money goes to the dancers, host drum, cohost drum, other drums, MC, arena director, security, ticket booth, raffle booth, etc. This does not include the grants, donations, and non-cash expenses. There were a lot of payouts this year like every year. I will have a full excel spread sheet in a few weeks. Still not feeling that good, soon I hope. I was at the Wacipi with double pneumonia and had to leave as soon as everyone was paid on Sunday.
We were saved by 20 foreign exchange students that arrived Saturday night for 2 hours. Maria McNamara, Josine Peters, Roxanne Flammond, and Jyni Koschak had scheduled volunteers, but many of them did not show up. This is my last Wacipi, too much stress and work for to many months.
