The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community will set up a village

The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community will set up our village approximately from Aug 28 – Sept 2, 2023?
St Peters Church in Mendota has graciously approved us to have a village. Joseph Bester is in charge of the village. He needs others to help him. Sharon will be overseeing the progress. We will start a few meetings to discuss our plans.
The village will be at our Wacipi / Powwow Sept 8-9-10- 2023 by the sacred trees.
We are looking to contact native americans schools, please contact Sharon. We would love to get the children involved in making a village.
Mendota is also looking for Teepees. If you have a teepee, please bring it to the powwow and for the village. We need teepees along the river too. The more teepees the better.
The village will have teepees, inipi, drum, hides, you can tan a deer hide, canoe, feathers. Tripod for cooking buffalo stew or wild rice soup. Need people to cook the food at the village. A few people in regalia.
Donations are needed please write on your donation for village. To the tribal office.
