Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community must move. The office has mold, and the owner will not fix it. He is selling the building we are in. Once he sells, we must move anyway. They removed the mold 3 years ago, but they did not get it all and now it is back. The whole building has mold. None of us were told there was mold and that it has been there for years. We would not have rented that space had we known now or in the past. My cancer doctor told me to stay away from to the office as a little mold is to much mold. No one should go to the office.
We ideally would like to move to Eagan somewhere with affordable rent. Possibly a house in a commercial area. Mendota is a 501C3, hopefully we can get a reduced rent. We ideally are looking for a 1,000 sq ft space at no more than $1,000 a month, but that is really pushing it. Our rent is $500 now. We are asking our members and honorary members to help to decide what to do and where to go.
