I was thinking about my grandmother Lillian or Lilly LeClaire a lot.

I was thinking about my grandmother Lillian or Lilly LeClaire a lot lately. I know she has been guiding me, along with my GGgrandmother Angelique Renville DuPuis. What Lilly must have gone through at Carlisle Indian School for 7 years it must have been horrific. My mother Selisha LeClaire Lilly’s daughter never talked about Carlisle without crying. Selisha my mother seldom talked about it either. Mother would say we are related to a great chief.
Who turned out to be from Little Crow dynasty. Lilly was at Carlisle’s from 1897- 1904. Lilly came home to Mendota MN for the first time in 1904, she met Alberts LeClaire and married him and never went back to Carlisle’s Indian School.
My book is almost done. Hope to have it done by June. Albert and Lilly LeClaire are in my book, along with Angelique and Hypolite DuPuis.
Don’t you wish you could meet your ancestors now. I guess we must wait for now. I do talk with all of them most days, some every day.
