Ceremony in Mendota for Wounded Knee it has been125 years since the Massacre. Tom Weaver called us to see if we could have a ceremony in Mendota for 125 years since Wounded Knee. On Dec29 at the DuPuis House or Sibley Historic Site 1357 Sibley Memorial Hwy MN 55150. Prayers at 12:00, Inipi at 2:00, potluck. Everyone is welcome! According to the origin stories of the Bdewakantunwan Dakota (one of the Seven Fires of the Dakota Oyate), the point where the rivers come together here, the Bdote, is the center of the earth. It is, we are taught by the Bdewakantunwan, where the Dakota people began.
