Alexander Ramsey and the Dakota Bounty

Colette Routel, Associate Professor at William Mitchell College of Law, will provide a detailed account of the creation of the Minnesota bounty system in 1863, its implementation, and the court case that finally ended it. Scouts and citizens were paid up to $200 for proof they had killed a Dakota. House tours at 1:30 and 3:30 pm. Suggested donation $2, youth through high school and PDHS members are free.
