The Mendota Dakota Tribal Community invites you to come & help celebrate  the 20th anniversary of the historic transplanting of the four sacred oak trees (topa wakan utuhu canpi).

Saturday, May 14th, 2022.
Behind St. Peter’s Church.
1405 Hwy 13, Mendota, MN 55120.

1:pm….Arrive, gather around the sacred oaks.
1:30…..Welcome – history of the site – update.
Sage smudging – pipe ceremony.
Closing remarks – thanks giving.

Small potluck feast to follow, please.
Bring something to share & a lawn chair.
Church restrooms will be available.

St Peters will provide some tables and chair. 

Afterwards: a brief tour of our arboretum & the sacred oaks memorial garden.
