COMMEMORATIVE MARCH
NOVEMBER 7-13

A commemorative march will begin November 7 at the Lower Sioux Community at the cemetery to honor the Dakota women, children and elders who were force-marched from the Lower Sioux Community to the concentration camp at Ft. Snelling.  The march is for anybody and everybody who wishes to participate is some way.  There will be people from the Sisseton-Wahpeton Reservation, Sioux Valley Reserve in Manitoba, Santee Sioux Reservation in Nebraska and others.  It would be really great to have some participation from our community.  For more information, please contact the office.

GAMBLING REPORT

The gambling report for August was presented at the October 13th meeting.  Members approved $2,000.00 toward printing the poster for World Peace and Prayer Day 2003 being held in Australia.  This is an event our community has been involved in since 1999 that was started by a vision from Chief Arvol Looking Horse.  The complete reports are available for members at the office.
