Hi Sharon,

I had Diane do a letter for via phone and am sending it on to you.  I will be contacting my relatives at Fort Peck and let them know the change in the dates.  I'm at my doctor's office and can use this computer for a very short time.  Anyways, I have good news.....I am no longer in a cast, I'm wearing a boot for six weeks and after that I go into intensive therapy.  I am very happy.  The next planning conference meeting is for the 28th of February at 11:00 am at Mendota,  will that work with the council and people?  Can you forward this to all and as soon as I can I will contact you again by email otherwise anyone can call me.  I will see you on the 28th of February.

Alameda

Hi Alameda,

See below for text you can send out in an e-mail. I'm attaching both the
document and the text in this e-mail. I am free to meet on the 28th. Good luck
today!

Diane

Han Mitakuyapi!

I am writing to thank all of my relatives at Mendota for their thoughtful
comments about our conference at the meeting last week. It was good to see and
hear each one of you share your ideas about the Wisdom Conference we are
planning for Mendota. As I said that night, my relatives are willing to come
here and teach Mendota about traditional Dakota spirituality, history, and
cooking. You will have a chance to learn from people who
 themselves learned the
old ways from their elders.

I also heard the concerns that were shared about the timing of our conference,
and the need for planning to make sure that the funds are available when they
are needed. Since our meeting, I have prayed about these questions.

One of the hopes I have for this conference is that it will help bring all of
us together, uniting Mendota people with those who are absent from the meetings,
and also with our relatives from Fort Peck. For this reason, it is important
that we all work together in planning this event.

At this time, I am asking that we postpone the conference until this fall and
allow more time for planning and fundraising. Letʼs cancel our meeting on
February 7 and reschedule it for Saturday, February 28.

Pidamayaye to all my relatives for your good thoughts and prayers.
