The mission of the Dakota Women’s Society is to revitalize our traditional Dakota Women’s lifeways to help us, our children, and our families in our modern day lives. Through learning the sacred ways that is our birth-right as Dakota Oyate, we honor our ancestors and our future generations, and strengthen ourselves as Dakota women. Our goal is to share through teaching and learning together, the Dakota Wicohan values of generosity, wisdom, fortitude, bravery, industriousness and fidelity. Our goal is to provide a supportive, encouraging environment to strengthen and affirm our families, ourselves, and the circle of humanity in our relationship with the creator.
