Ecology-Democracy Network.

KFAI’s Indian Uprising, July 6, 2008 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. CDT #272

Ecology-Democracy Network. The EDN is a new organizing experiment leading to a new political party. Its primary goal is to establish ecological whole-cost accounting in Minnesota. The network will follow the Precautionary Principle (do no harm), which will be reflected in a new economic model. This economic vision will not be human-centered, but ecologically centered, therefore a position of health, strength and endurance.

Guest: Ken Pentel, Environmental Activist

“Systemic economic and political dishonesty must end. Stealing from and dumping on our host (planet earth) and future generations is a crime. Tragically, our species being conditioned to such low expectations, allows this to happen. Together we can stop it! This network is a call to serve the ecosystem we all depend on. With high expectations of organizing we can redefine our sense of community and planetary security. One of my frustrations with organizing the last twenty-five years has been the lack of discipline among the movement and organizations I have worked with. The goals for ecological healing and representation of earth and the people have fallen short. This is not acceptable on a finite resource base.” - KP

Pentel was the 2006 Green Party candidate for Minnesota governor with running mate Danene Provencher. Pentel ran for this position twice before, in 1998 and 2002. - kenpentel@yahoo.com
